Welcome.
I’m so glad you are here.
Listen. I love stories. All kinds of stories. The ones told through fiction, poetry, audio drama, dance, you name it. But stories about people’s lives recounted in their own words, I dig those the most. Over the years, sharing stories has been central to my most meaningful projects. From a poet recounting what catapulted him into writing, to a mother revealing how she felt bringing a child into the world, connecting with others and gathering these moments has been moving, joyful, and a true privilege.
Oh, Baby! , my most recent series, is a collection of interviews from parents across generations sharing how and why they entered into parenthood. Their frankness and vulnerability takes us from the weeks (or months, or years) before conception to years after their children’s births, with all of the pains and triumphs along the way.
Be sure to click Oh Baby’s sub-menu and view the incredible artists who helped bring this project to life.
Mama’s Mocktails & Munchies is a complementary blog to Oh, Baby! that offers something near and dear to my heart and stomach: food and pretend-boozy drinks. Want to “turn up’ without putting your baby at risk? Need a quick snack that is satisfying and not an entire bag of Cheetos? Check here for ideas and easy recipes.
The People’s Culture is an interview series I launched in 2017 that highlights creatives who have maintained successful careers in the arts. Through these conversations, artists reiterate that success comes in many different forms, and that its very definition varies from person to person. Just as importantly, they demonstrate that if even if you don’t have Beyonce-level fame or 300K+ followers on the ‘Gram, you can certainly still have a career that you’re damn proud of.
In my previous life, I jammed in the arts nonprofit world, spending the majority of my time working with young people, community groups, and in public programming. It was pretty awesome. Want help forming or reshaping your next arts program? Have questions about working with young people? I’m here to help.
